I love the different styles of homes in Pryor. They have traditional ranch style homes, native rock homes, new construction French Provincial, and more. Two of my favorite style of homes are sprinkled throughout the neighborhoods, Mid-Century Modern and Craftsman homes.

Craftsman style homes were first designed in the early 20th century. They got their name because these homes were first created during the arts and crafts movement. I love the oversized covered porches with the signature style tapered front columns. There are several Craftsman homes throughout the neighborhoods. Newer or older, they all have that specific charm.

Mid-Century Modern inspired homes were built from 1945-1969 and are known for clean, simple lines with little embellishments. When getting ready to view homes for purchase, do your research and let your Realtor know what styles are most appealing to you.

South Adair Street begins at downtown Pryor. Half of the property is commercial property and the street tapers into single-family neighborhoods. The older properties are being purchased for remodeling and or new construction replacements.

Adair Street runs parallel with Wood Street and Hwy 69. It is used as an alternative route when avoiding highway traffic. You will find a mixture of banks, churches, antique stores, medical offices, a compound pharmacy, daycare centers, and insurance offices. Roosevelt Elementary and Pryor Middle School are just a couple of streets over. This is a street to watch in the market trends.

Different investors are buying rundown properties and building new homes on site. This is a win/win for the neighborhoods. New construction and remodeling improves older neighborhoods and increases home values. This gives the buyer chances of buying low and being able to make a sizable profit.

Whitaker Park is Pryor's stunning city park. Home to tennis courts, splash pad, city pool, and more! Whitaker Park is the center of multiple community events throughout the year. It's a great hub to come together to relax and meet some great people.
  • Only a quarter of a mile from Hwy 69/ South Mill St in Pryor, Whitaker Park is a beautifully sprawling landscape packed with activities for the whole family to love. Perhaps the crowning jewel of the park is the large duck pond and fountains. Ducks flock to the park and surrounding neighborhood, and love to be fed by the visitors.

More amenities at the park include a quarter mile walking trail, a fenced in sand volleyball court, a splash pad, multiple play areas, and several benches and covered tables for gatherings. The basketball court in the center of the park is decorated with a stunning mural painted by local artists, and there are covered bleachers available for any spectators wanting to watch an impromptu game. There are also public bathrooms available for use by park patrons.

To the west of the park lies the public pool, complete with water slide, and to the south of the park you will find tennis courts. But that's not all! On the first weekend of the warmer months, Whitaker Park is also home to Trader's Day where local artisans from Mayes County gather to sell their wares, and come together as a community. In short, if you're coming to Pryor, Whitaker Park is a place that you don't want to miss.
