Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar is located near Penn Square Mall in the Belle Isle Community. They have monthly food pairings with a featured distillery and a five course meal. The featured distillery has a representative that describes the five different tastings and the Whiskey Cake chef prepares each course farm-to-fork, made from scratch dishes for the dinner. These events are so much fun!

Recently, I was showing homes in Belle Isle and Nichols Hills. Bellini's Underground is a lovely Waterford location! It's located at 6305 Waterford Blvd, Suite 100. It's always perfection on the patio or inside.

My top recommendation for brunch is the Margherita Frittata with roasted roma tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella. For lunch I recommend Honey Roasted Pecan Salad with spinach, carmelized onions, and honey balsamic parmesan chicken. Dinner won't disappoint with my best pizza choice of pepperoni/black olive/mushrooms/onions/sausage. Pasta got your attention? Try the Chicken or Veal Piccatta-Scallopini over capellini pasta with capers! They feature a great wine selection and the location is highly desired for special date nights, family events and romantic ambiance.

You'll love this place...I always enjoy stopping here with or without clients because the music, food and wine selections can positively change your mood.

Great news if you're a foodie like me and enjoy the Northwest Oklahoma City area for showing homes, dining and shopping. I was shopping at Penn Square Mall in the Belle Isle neighborhood area of Oklahoma City today. Discovered a great new restaurant that just opened here in Northwest Oklahoma City at Penn Square Mall! Texas de Brazil is now open!

I can't possibly describe the delicious fare in detail here as I was too busy trying to take it all in, both with my eyes and my mouth! They are heavy on meats with selections of beef, lamb, chicken and pork of course, but I was really impressed with the lighter fare there. A great salad area; they claim more than 50 items and I believe it!

Now get this, they have wonderful soup selections, tasty cheeses and of all things, sushi! I was also happy to see they have a 'rewards' program for frequent diners. I've discovered so many great deals when using my rewards at the local Oklahoma City diners, and it's good to know that Texas de Brazil has a program like that here in Northwest Oklahoma City. This one is a national chain, so enjoy it, but always work to support your local Oklahoma City foodie heavens, too! Check out the website link below for more info on this new and exciting NW OKC restaurant!

Dropped by to see a past client who I sold a home to in the Belle Isle area...I call it a 'pop-by'! I really enjoyed seeing Belle Isle and how it continues to impress home buyers who want a nice location, more central than far NW OKC and close to Western Avenue and the great shopping at Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City.

Why do I love the Belle Isle and Wileman community in NW Oklahoma City? It's so close and convenient to the Penn Square Mall area and is now a very active location for dining, shopping and entertainment. If you are familiar with Bellini's in Waterford, Nichols Hills Plaza, the entire Western Avenue dining area, great shopping and the entertainment scene in NW OKC, then you'll appreciate living in Belle Isle. Enjoy close proximity to everything that is cool and happening in this exciting OKC area.

If you enjoy shopping and you're not familiar the the expanded offering in shopping fun at Penn Square Mall, then strap on your purses and wallets and get over there to explore stores like Apple, J. Jill, sweet treats at See's Candies, Dillards, Coach, and so much more. I love the Teavana store and dining at Cantina Laredo and Pepperoni Grill in the Mall!

You'll live close to this mall, but you'll enjoy not having to deal with any noise or traffic as Belle Isle is a very nicely secluded neighborhood. Great topography, lots of heavily treed streets, you can't beat it for value and livability.

Work Downtown? No problem getting there. Work about anywhere in OKC? It's a breeze with the fast flow of traffic on NW Expressway that is easy to access from Belle Isle in NW OKC. You'll have extremely easy access to all of Oklahoma City due to the quick accessibility of NW Expressway.

So how's the real estate in Belle Isle NW OKC this April 2016? There are several homes available with the highest price at $399,000 and the least expensive at $165,000. You'll find a home to interest you in Belle Isle NW OKC, that's for sure! (Remember, homes come onto and leave the market as time progresses...so this number and price range will change depending on market activity here).

According to a recent article here are the Top 10 Stressful Things You Could Face In Life:
    10. Bankruptcy
    9. Wedding planning
    8. New parent
    7. New job
    6. Large debts
    5. Fired from your job
    4. A family death
    3. Laid off from work
    2. Relationship break-up or divorce
And drum roll please, the #1 most stressful thing you can face in life:
    1. Buying or selling a house * According to Jay Edwards of the Daily Mail

With that said, does anyone question my sanity for being a realtor? I’ve often said that being a realtor involves 10% dealing with homes and 90% dealing with people. Another realtor friend says its 10% homes and 90% law and psychology. However you look at it, there is far more to being an effective realtor than looking for or listing a home on the MLS.

Whether buying or selling a home, seek out a professional. Someone who will sit down and listen to your goals and needs. Someone who will be hands on while listing and marketing your home. Someone who will spend the time to search for the perfect home to match your needs.

I live in Belle Isle. I shop at Sprouts and Braum's. I eat at Ingrid's, Dot Wo, S&B Burgers, Meat Market Refectory and Junior's. I walk my dogs in Belle Isle West Park. My dogs are groomed at Pet Smart. I bought my laptop at Best Buy. I know the people and have deep roots in my neighborhood. Please consider a professional realtor to help you during what is touted as the #1 stressful task you will deal with in your life. Decrease your stress in finding the perfect home for you and your family - hopefully on a street near me.

    Meat Market Refectory
    2920 NW 63rd Street

    Refectory [ri-fek-tuh-ree]
noun, 1. a dining hall in a religious house, a college, or other institution.

I had to look up refectory…I do get around, but I hadn’t heard of a refectory.

From the moment we walked in we could tell we were in for a treat! The restaurant is divided into sections with each having its own unique feel. A "hallway" of booths evoked a romantic, private feeling. Another dining area was suitable for larger groups or individual tables. We were seated in the open area adjacent to the bar. The silver upholstered booths gave an elegant, throw back to the 1920's feel. Our waiter was Daniel and he was perfection. His smile and attention to detail made for an enjoyable evening!

Now for the food! Oh my, oh my! I had the Cedar Plank Salmon, MMR potatoes and spinach with pecans - all prepared to perfection and delicious. My friend had the filet and he said it was the best he had ever had (and he's a steak guy!). Not only tender, but with a distinctive flavor that must come from the organic grain fed beef and extra long aging process. The wine list was extensive and our selection was perfect. We didn't have room for dessert. Maybe we will drop in some evening just for dessert! As we were leaving we noticed the butcher shop on the west side of the building. Well stocked for those who prefer to prepare their own steaks!

I live nearby and watched the long process of preparing the building for it's new role. After seeing inside I can appreciate all of the craftsmanship that went into the renovation.

They offer valet parking, have a friendly staff and, though pricey, it is well worth it! Menu, wine, service - Five Stars from this foodie!

I am in love with my neighborhood!

After living in the "burbs" for 30+ years, most recently Edmond, I chose to move to an established neighborhood (1955 - 1966) in the center of "my world." It seems everything I need is within spitting distance from my home.

    My needs/wants/desires:
    Dog groomer
    Dog food
    Dog treats
    Nichols Hills Vet
Belle Isle West Park. Adopted by the neighborhood and dog walking essential, picnic tables and pavilion, tennis courts, and well maintained playground equipment. Yes, dogs are an important part of my life!
Neighbors who know my name - first and last!
    Starbucks (three)
    Ted's Escondido
    Sprouts Market
    Whole Foods
The George - great food, drinks and view
360 highly sought after high rise condominiums
Bellini's and my favorite bartender Keith
Mamasita's and my other favorite bartender Ralph
Classen Curve - restaurants and great shopping
Chick fil a (My granddaughter’s favorite restaurant)
    Barnes & Noble
    Sonic (love their ice)
    Penn Square
    Ingrid's Kitchen
    Akin's Health Food Store
    Nichols Hills Plaza
    La Baguette
    Multiple nail shops
    Scott Cleaners - my favorite
    Bed Bath & Beyond
    Office Max
Dollar Tree (shhhh - my wine glass shop)
A new donut shop - no I haven't been there
Sam's Liquor - best choices and best prices in town - and yes there is an adorable owner Sam
    Red Carpet Car Wash
A drive through car wash (with free vacuums) that I prefer over Red Carpet
    McDonald's - can't beat their French fries
    My daughter's office - score!
    Home Depot
Best Buy - my appliance and electronic go-to store - love the Geek Squad
    S&B Burgers - oh my!
    Mediterranean Market
Tatyana - the most amazing Healing Touch massage therapist ever
Plus, three miles from Lake Hefner trails, sidewalks and restaurants

The list goes on and on...
Seriously, all of that is within a two mile radius of my home, and yet I enjoy quiet, tree lined streets with amazing neighbors.
