Wow!!! This new hotel has it all! 605 rooms, 17 stories, seven different dining options, and more! This hotel was built to serve as a convention hotel (as it connects to the new and soon to open Convention Center), but with conventions being cancelled or delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were worried about business being slow. I was able to attend the weekend the Omni opened its door, ventured into the Oklahoma City Tap House Restaurant and Bar, listened to live music, played a few games, and had a wonderful time in a covid-friendly packed bar! I'm looking forward to everything really opening up again and trying out all of the dining options this hotel has to offer!!

Located on historic Film Row in Downtown OKC, The Jones Assembly is one of the city’s newest live music venues featuring a refined, regionally inspired food and cocktail menu. The industrial-chic mixed-use space includes various bars, an outdoor balcony, a projector screen perfect for viewing Thunder games, and a large outdoor space. The Jones Assembly offers lunch, dinner, brunch, coffee, and dessert menus. Each menu is varied and exciting, ranging from fried okra and Nashville Hot Chicken to Italian-inspired dishes and all of their cocktails are unique and expertly made.

Next time you decide to grab brunch in Oklahoma City, don’t forget to try my personal favorites: a Frosé and Croque Madame!

Are you ready for a new, convenient way to access all your favorite downtown hot spots? The OKC Streetcar will be officially up and running on Friday, December 14th. The seven streetcars (green, blue and pink) run on two loops that cover 4.7 miles, six days a week through our favorite districts: Downtown, Bricktown, Midtown, and Automobile Alley.

Passengers will only have to walk a couple of blocks (minimum five minute walk) to the 22 platforms that will connect them with restaurants, local shops, hotels, and attractions. On Fridays and Saturdays, a dedicated loop running from East Bricktown to the Myriad Gardens from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. along Reno and Sheridan will be in 15 minute increments.

Expect streetcars arriving every 12 to 14 minutes beginning at 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday making meeting commutes easier for non-downtown workers. Day passes will be available for purchase for $3.00 or single-use tickets can be purchased for $1.00. Embark's mobile fare app can also be used. Free rides will be offered from December 14th through January 5th.

  • I know that the temperatures in Oklahoma can get brutal sometimes during our summers. If you're a Star Wars fan and love to possibly enjoy a great Summer evening of outdoors fun, then you'll want to schedule this outdoors movie for you and your friends and family.

What's really unique about this event is that it will be on the water! Our Oklahoma River is a jewel in OKC's landscape of Downtown Oklahoma City fun. You'll be floating on tubes and rafts! If you don't want to wade into the water, that's no problem as there will be room and visibility on the shore for you to bring your lawn chairs and blankets to view the film.

So feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair and watch the film for free from the banks of the lower pond or rent a tube or raft ($10 per person). Big Water Grill will be open until 10:30 pm for dinner, snacks, and drinks! Outside food and beverages are not allowed. See you on the water July 14th! See details below.
  • Looking for something cool as in air-conditioned and something that the family can enjoy with you on Father's Day? Skip sitting in a dark movie and not being able to interact with each other, try visiting the Oklahoma City Museum of Art today!

They always have something interesting there, a great Sunday Brunch at the Museum Cafe and this exhibit titled, 'The Art of Oklahoma". You'll be able to enjoy the 110th anniversary of Oklahoma becoming a state. Art created by Oklahoman's, the Oklahoma Cities and Landscapes of our fine state.

This event will be held at Oklahoma City Museum of Art' 415 Couch Drive, Oklahoma City, OK,
  • If you love a little business and personal socializing and a great glass of wine, then you'll want to check out "Wine Down Wednesday" in Downtown Oklahoma City. Located at O Bar (7th floor of Ambassador Hotel) 1200 North Walker Ave. in Downtown Oklahoma City.

The wine selection is never repeated so each week is always different. Oysters available for $2 a pop! It's a great time to relax and enjoy a refreshing 'Hump Day' break and the WiFi is good, too if you need to respond to some online work while relaxing.
  • Curious about the best brunch spot in Downtown OKC? I've recently found a great restaurant to stop at when I'm showing urban living options in the Downtown OKC area...FLINT! The food here for brunch is not light. It's solid food and you'll want to take that into consideration with your other downtown plans. I seriously love the location and atmosphere of Flint as well as what they have brought to Downtown OKC. Located close to the Myriad Gardens, it's easy to walk over to Flint, especially if you are taking anyone on a brief walking tour of the Gardens and the general area when explaining the advantages of urban living in Downtown and Bricktown Oklahoma City.

Favorite brunch choices? For me I found the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders with some Chipotle Honey to be divine! Many like the Flint Benedict which is a unique concoction of BBQ Candied Neuske’s Bacon, Two Poached Eggs, aButtermilk Biscuit, and Hollandaise.
I've also had the Sante Fe before and really enjoyed it. Ingredients include chorizo, sweet potato, poblano, caramelized onion, queso fresco and it's very good!

Please check out all of our urban Oklahoma City dining and urban living excitement. It's a great time to explore OKC and live in Downtown Oklahoma City!

Downtown Oklahoma City in the fall is such a beautiful place to be. Trees are changing colors and the temperatures are cooler! The Bleu Garten, at the corner of 10th and Hudson, offers an ever changing menu and the largest patio in Oklahoma City to hang out. Bleu Garten is the original food truck park and beer garden.

Everyday different food trucks pull in and offer up some gourmet creation that will leave you chasing them all over town. There are two full service bars with a wide variety of cocktails, beer and wine. The Bleu Garten is a family friendly establishment offering shade, entertainment, friendly games and pets! This time of year, The Plant Stand pops up next door to The Bleu Garten and sells pumpkins and flowers. Park and walk around, stop in for food and beverage and keep exploring this great city!
  • Lunching Downtown OKC and showing some urban properties. Discovered a lovely find in my foodie adventures. Yuzo Sushi Tapas? That's right and you read that right! Very interesting restaurant name and concept if you ask me. It's a Latin-Japanese 'fusion' restaurant and the fare is decidedly unique.

What is my favorite choice from this location? Hamachi Ajillo is priced nice at $14 and it's a concoction of yellow-tail tune and some sublime seasonings. I didn't know what ponzu sauce was at first, but they explained it as a blend of soy sauce and some citrus juice...I took the dive and it was great. I also enjoyed the Viet Summer roll...sushi and a egg roll approach..nice taste and priced around $16..it was good.

Need to explore a locally owned foodie find in OKC? This place is a great one to start with in OKC dining! Find it at 808 North Broadway Avenue, Oklahoma City. You will be pleasantly surprised!
  • Today was a great day in Downtown OKC! I got to show a couple of lovely lofts Downtown and have lunch at The Wedge Pizza Downtown. Then I spent the afternoon at the Myriad Gardens for the OKC Garden Fest.

I'm a member of the Myriad Gardens Patrons and I was happy to participate in this Mother's Day weekend event. It was great fun to have my Mom from Stillwater come along and enjoy the fun. There were over 30 vendor booths and kiosks to show off the products and services for lovers of the Myriad Gardens and gardening. Personally, I loved the sessions on starting a butterfly garden and helping to build the Monarch butterfly population in Oklahoma. The event runs until 4pm today so try to make it out there..it's on the Myriad Gardens Pavilion area.
  • I recently stopped in lovely Downtown OKC to work on some digital files for my home sellers. Love Sky Slope and the ability to work remotely, especially from today’s most recommended coffee shop, Clarity Coffee. I love the espresso creations from these capable baristas. I’m enjoying the free WiFi and an Ethiopia Nano Challa creation that was recommended to me by the great people who work and love visiting here. I highly recommend you make a visit to Clarity Coffee in the Downtown Oklahoma City area.
  • Join me if you love Downtown Oklahoma City and great productions like The Lion King. This is happening at the Civic Center Music Hall. I loved the movie, so you know I will be enjoying the live musical. This production is winner of 6 Tony Awards and OKC is so fortunate to have this tour hit our live performance venue. Being able to see this production will be the highlight of my OKC spring fun! Visit the link below for all of the details for this upcoming event.
  • It's here! Can't wait for Tuesday and my annual multiple trips to Downtown Oklahoma City for the Festival of the Arts! This will be your chance to experience six days of Oklahoma City fun! You can get to enjoy the fun as the festival begins April 25-30 at Bicentennial Park, situated between the Civic Center Music Hall and City Hall. Admission is free!

There will be about 31 food vendors to keep you satisfied while you stroll the exhibits! More than 300 entertainers will be on stage and about the Festival to provide music, cooking demonstrations and the ever popular wine and beer tent.

Make sure to attend; it will probably rain later in the week. We always get a day of rain for the event; so come out Tuesday and enjoy what should be perfect Oklahoma City weather for this event!
  • Following Sunday Brunch last week, I had the opportunity of taking a short walk from the Museum Cafe directly to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. I very much enjoyed the current exhibit titled "The Complete WPA Collection". Have you ever heard of the WPA? If you think that our economy has been through some tough times in the last ten years, at least we have more of a social 'safety net' than they had in the Great Depression of the 1930's.

WPA was created by President Roosevelt (FDR) as the Works Progress Administration...WPA. It was a government program to basically create employment for Americans to blunt the trauma of the Great Depression. How did this become a art exhibit at the OKCMOA?
Part of the WPA was the FAP...the Federal Art Project. Perhaps you've heard of some of the names of artists who were helped and whose works were elevated by the FAP?

Jackson Pollock, Willem De Kooning, and Stuart Davis, among many others had art careers that were enhanced by help from the FAP. After the second World War the WPA was dissolved and OKC was lucky to have a large part of the FAP inventory become a part of the Oklahoma Art Center which was the predecessor of the OKCMOA.

This exhibit will end July 2, 2017 so I encourage you to have Sunday Brunch at the OKCMOA Museum Cafe and then walk over to the exhibit before it leaves this coming Summer!
  • Today is the grand 're-opening' of one of my favorite Downtown OKC restaurants...Iguana Grill! They were closed from January 22nd through February 6th and today is the great day of being able to get back into their wonderfully creative food scene. I can best describe it as 'from scratch Mexican-Tex/Mex with a resort style flair'. Love it!
Here are a few of my previous favorites...I hope they haven't changed the menu too much!
*Lunch Taco: flour or corn tortilla with choice of one: Picadillo/Chicken/Pork Carnitas/ then topped with pico de gallo, cheese, and lettuce
*Avocado Chop Salad: sliced avocado, black beans, corn, pico de gallo, bacon, and greens nicely tossed with avocado ranch...yum!
*Lunch Side of roasted cauliflower and broccoli...excellent!
*Spinach and Mushroom Enchilada: Enchilada filled with spinach, mushroom and topped with sour cream sauce

Hurry over today! Let's celebrate the return of a exceptional locally owned restaurant to our exciting Downtown OKC dining scene!
  • Wanted to give you advance notice on this great event happening at our OKC Myriad Gardens. This event is obviously family friendly and located at one of OKC's best attractions, our Myriad Botanical Gardens in Downtown Oklahoma City.

It's the best solution this time of year for keeping your children active and away from their video games and Iphones. It's a great opportunity to spend time with your kids and friends in a relaxing environment and learn more about the Myriad Botanical Gardens scene. This is a weekly event and you are able to bring your own water and I highly suggest a yoga mat for your floor work in yoga. This program is not just for kids, bring your whole family and maybe the friends who enjoy a little sweating and stretching. Great opportunity to unwind from your week and enjoy real life connections with them! Visit the link below for all of the details. I love Oklahoma City, real estate and our Myriad Botanical Gardens!
  • If you're not one for explosive partying on New Years Eve, then you might want to check out what I consider, excellent dining and a wonderful view of the OKC fireworks on New Year's Eve in Oklahoma City. Downtown has so much going for it and as we move into 2017, it only gets better. If you need a strong combination of a romantic dinner, exquisite table service and the best fireworks view from a rooftop in Downtown OKC and not have to deal with parking and crowds, the Oklahoma Museum of Art has your perfect event.

The Museum Cafe will be providing a great selection of dinner menu items and a champagne toast on the Roof Terrace. This gives you a perfect view of downtown fireworks! There are choices of different dining times. Visitors can also take in live jazz music by The Music Makers at 9:00 pm. You can't beat a deal like this where you don't have the stress of parking, driving around Opening Night in OKC and you have everything contained right there at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art! See you at OKCMOA on the rooftop for the fireworks tomorrow night for New Year's Eve!
