This summer in the old Buick Building in Automobile Alley, a breakfast and lunch diner, a first for the historic corridor will open. Hatch Early Mood Food will be located at 1101 N. Broadway next to Broadway 10 Chophouse and across the street from Sidecar. One of the owners said, "When we see an opportunity, it's where we see a void in the market, we want to be part of the residential mixed-use play taking place in Midtown, Automobile Alley and Deep Deuce."Ten years ago, Red Prime Steakhouse was the first restaurant to open in the famed district and has fed some of the NBA's greats when in town to play the Oklahoma City Thunder. The latest restaurant will feature an open kitchen lined with countertop seating and booths along the opposite wall, an homage to Sambo's. The diner will have a modern twist with hardwood flooring, free Wi-Fi, and a communal setting at the front with television screens. On the north end of the current space, a 400 sq.ft. enclosed patio will be available for patrons. The diner's hours will be 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily. Breakfast items include: pancakes, muffins, chicken-fried eggs, and a variety of made-from-scratch deliciousness. The diner will also serve cocktails.
