Bristow Area Insight

  • If you visit my photos, you will see a great photo I took off of Highway 16 in Bristow Oklahoma last summer. Bristow is known for its farm and ranch country side views. Bristow is a great place to get a home with some property for those who like to wave to their neighbors from afar or just not see any at all. The people here are friendly and down to earth. Located in Creek County, Oklahoma, Bristow has a population of just over 4,000 people. If you are looking for rural living just 35 minutes from the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa this is the place. Bristow began in approximately 1898 when the Frisco rail line connected Tulsa, through Sapulpa to Oklahoma City by rail. Cotton wa the main crop and it was the rail line that kept farmers in this area in business by connecting them with the world. Today Bristow is a popular stop for folks traveling through Oklahoma by means of ol' Route 66 stretching from Chicago to Santa Monica California. The downtown area is going through a revitalization and you can grab a great hamburger at the Boomerang Grill downtown. There is a museum at the original train depot downtown that has free admission and is not to be missed.
