Located in downtown Idabell, the Museum of the Red River is a neat museum with all kinds of interesting Native American art and artifacts to discover. They also have a dinosaur skeleton that was unearthed near the museum. The staff was great and answered our questions about artifacts, the collections, and the exhibits. This museum's large 17,000 square foot modern architecture facility is a work of art in itself. Admission is free, and there are summer camps and programs for children. This place is worth the time to stop and check out. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of local history contained within the building and the professional exhibits. I was expecting less and got a whole lot more. If you have the time or are staying in the area, do not miss this attraction.
