    Terminal Commons provides a great place to grab a quick bite to eat, a cup of coffee, or a drink. It will eventually connect to the Ferris wheel via a pedestrian-only street. It is open all day Thursday - Sunday. Having indoor and outdoor seating areas with an industrial-style playground for the kids. This is a perfect addition to this growing area!
  • In 2017 Wheeler District broke ground and now in 2019, it is time to call it home! The Wheeler District is in downtown Oklahoma City, just south of the Oklahoma River. While living there is brand new, the district itself opened April 2016; becoming home to the historic Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel which was purchased on eBay in 2008, and stands 100 ft above the river and overlooks the downtown skyline. Check out the Wheeler Ferris Wheel's website for current hours of operation. Single rides are $6, a day pass is $10, a season pass is $20 and kids aged three and under ride for free!     The large white Oklahoma sign is another attraction which is a very popular photo/selfie spot. The Wheeler Riverfront Plaza offers hammocks, games, concessions, picnic areas and swag. The Big Friendly, a school bus transformed into a craft beer bus, is on site from 6:00-10:00 p.m. most Fridays.

    It is so exciting to watch the Wheeler District develop into a residential area, adding a real community feel! Take some time to check it out, fun events, shops, work spaces and even an elementary school scheduled for 2020. It is being referred to as "OKC's Next Urban Neighborhood".

    Have you heard the buzz about the downtown Wheeler District yet? Located on the river off I-40 between I-35 and I-44, this revolutionary area currently has a working ferris wheel, photo opp, Oklahoma City landmark and will soon have a village of adorable homes. We were honored to be invited to the design charrett (brainstorm session) about five years ago to dream up a vision for this district. It was amazingly inspirational to hear Blaire Humphrey’s ideas of a Santa Monica inspired boardwalk area where families can spend a day walking along the river playing games, eating out and enjoying a concert.

    The residential area looks to be inspired by Blaire's brother, Grant Humphrey's project at Carlton Landing. You can check it out too and build with our friends at Scissortail Homes of Carlton Landing, LLC there. It has been wildly successful with modern farmhouse style homes.
