My husband and I purchased our home in Mesta Park in 1999 and renovated it completely. We have raised our girls right across from Perle Mesta Park and watched them grow up in this neighborhood. We have strolled the sidewalks countless times under large 100-year-old sycamore trees that line the streets. We hear children playing and neighbors visiting in the park in the evenings. We have watched the local firemen hose down the children in the hot summer sun as they scream with delight during the annual neighborhood picnic. We have seen the leaves turn each fall and celebrated at the annual Mesta Festa and toured the homes in December for the annual Holiday Home Tour. In addition to our home in the park, we have bought a home, renovated it, and sold it, and we continue to maintain a rental property in Mesta Park. It is now my privilege to help others sell their home or find their perfect home or invest in Mesta Park.

Mesta Park has an incredible optional (HOA) Home Owners Association that hosts events throughout the year. In just one week, the Mesta Park Annual Picnic for the neighborhood will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in Perle Mesta Park at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy visiting with your neighbors on the Summer Solstice and bring your own blankets and chairs to relax in the park.

A gorgeous massive new sculpture by artist Morgan Robinson was erected in Mesta Park dedicated in loving memory of Anita Garlock Irwin and her faithful dog, Jake. Come by and see this most recent addition to our fabulous park.

Mesta Park is a sought-after historic neighborhood. Its residents, both former and current, suggest Mesta Park is one of Oklahoma City's greatest treasures and I agree. Between 1906 and 1915 the area grew exponentially. Streetcars traveled along Shartel, then turned onto Northwest 18th Street, connecting with another line that ran along Classen Boulevard. Architects of the day designed houses with open floor plans and large windows, allowing a breezy feel and lots of sunshine. Mesta Park remains an aesthetic gem of a neighborhood and community today.
  • Popular Mesta Park in central Oklahoma City is bordered by Western Avenue on the west and Walker Avenue on the East. It is highly rated for lovers of historic homes and historic neighborhoods. The neighborhood spans from 16th Street north to 22nd Street. It also contains a small peninsula on the east side as it extends down 22nd street all the way to Robinson.

Did you know that Mesta Park is one of the oldest communities in Oklahoma City? It was developed in stages, largely between 1906 and 1930. It's a very desirable area for home buyers who want the close proximity of Midtown, Bricktown and Western Avenue. You'll love the charming homes in Mesta Park!

Here are some results of my recent research into property values in this Mesta Park community in central Oklahoma City:

    Average Price of Homes: $484,750
    Total Listings: 12
Average Price per Square Foot: $204
    Highest Price: $724,900
    Lowest Price: $194,000
    Average Property Age: 101 YEARS

You'll want to make sure you get full and quality home inspections anytime you buy a historic home of this age range. Once you get the "all clear" on home condition, you'll find that making the move into this popular historic home community in Oklahoma City is full of promise and happy days ahead for you! Great homes and charming ambiance!

Save the date! Mesta Park has just announced that the 40th anniversary of the holiday home tour will be December 2, 2017. Mesta Park is a thriving historic neighborhood in Midtown Oklahoma City. Beautiful homes that offer a glimpse into the city and its people in the early 1900's. Mesta Park was founded in 1902 and offers classic architecture. In 1983, the district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1994, the district was designated a Historic Preservation District by the Oklahoma City Council. This area offers homes that have been completely renovated to homes that need some TLC. Either way it is all about location, location, location!

In the last 90 days:10 homes have closed. Average sold price is $397,660. Average price per square foot is $163. Average square feet is 2452 and days on market is 49.
  • Great experience today and looking forward to tonight at The Lobby Cafe and Bar! Perhaps you are familiar with The Lobby Cafe and Bar on Western Avenue? I always remember it as 'Will's Coffee Shoppe'. Located next to Sushi Neko and across the street from its sister restaurant, Mushashi's, it's a great local coffee shop and event center.

The owner is a personal friend of mine and the ambiance is perfect if you need to have a business lunch. Great prices, atmosphere and they support the arts here in OKC. Here's what I found so nice at The Lobby Cafe and Bar! I love breakfast and they keep the love going even if you get there late in the day! My top choices to recommend:

*Spanish Eggs w/ Goat Cheese - Chorizo, Goat Cheese, Piquillo Peppers, Onion and Spices! This delightful meal will keep you happy and full. Pair with their excellent coffee or latte and it's a winner.
*Lobby Breakfast Sandwich - Eggs, Swiss Cheese, Choice of Croissant or Baguette. My clients loved this one! Service was excellent and we both enjoyed watching the Turner Classic black and white movies while dining and discussing properties. We split a dessert which was the Lobby Bread Pudding. Total perfection!

By the way, I was notified of a nice event this evening at The Lobby Cafe and Bar this evening. It's artist Annalisa Campbell's art reception! Admission will be free and light hors d'oeuvres will be served. She's an Oklahoma artist and arts enthusiast and I love her work!. She relishes the experiences that OKC provides to her and I look forward to learning more about her and her work this evening. Please try to enjoy some of the great food and service at The Lobby Cafe and Bar soon and drop by this evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the restaurant to attend this artist reception.
