The Paseo Arts District was built by G. A. Nichols in 1929 and was the first shopping center outside of downtown Oklahoma City. It was truly one of the first "lifestyle" centers, with shops, restaurants, and even at one time, a swimming pool! Originally called Spanish Village, you'll feel like you're out of town strolling through the original architecture, enjoying art and multi-cultural food and beverage choices at some of our city's most loved restaurants. It's walkable and bikeable to so many neighborhoods, like Heritage Hills, Mesta Park, Jefferson Park, The Paseo, Central Park, Edgemere Park, Crown Heights, and more. So when your soul needs a road trip, but you can't get out of town, just head for the Paseo - you'll be refreshed and renewed!
