    Have you taken a drive down 23rd St lately? Things are changing! So much new development and renovation you can hardly recognize it. New restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and shopping add to the new allure. What was once considered run down and a little scary can now be seen bustling with families, couples and pets! Just down from the newly renovated Tower Theatre is the HunnyBunny Biscuit Co and it is nothing short of delicious!! I have had some of the sweet and savory they offer and I can't say enough about how amazing the food is! Do yourself a favor and stop in!

    If you're looking for some great hot wings around the city, I recommend checking out Chick N Beer in the Uptown 23rd district! I love the hot gochujang, and if you're looking for some real heat, try the peppers galore. If that's too much, cool down with a local beer from one of their many draft or canned options. I would also suggest trying their fried pickles - ask for them extra crispy! They're the thinnest fried pickles I've yet to find and have a great texture.

    Great Place for a Variety of Tacos
    If you're looking for lunch around Uptown 23rd, I suggest stopping by Big Truck Tacos! They've been around for about 13 years and in addition to a few food trucks, they have a brick-and-mortar location at the corner of Dewey and NW 23rd. There's a ton of variety on the menu and it seems they have something for everybody. If you don't know what to order, try asking the staff for some recommendations, they've never let me down! Looking to take a chance? Try the 5th Amendment, a mystery taco that constantly changes. A couple of my favorites are The Rancher and the Green Chile Pork. They also offer a great variety of salsa and in addition to doing lunch and dinner have some great breakfast options too!

    Okay, this is my new fav! The sandwiches and the soups are freaking delish. They are veggie friendly also. Their Basque Garlic Tomato Soup and Hummus Delight sandwich are ...well...delightful! The deli itself has all the fresh meats too. They even serve the ever popular Maine Root Sodas. I will certainly be back to try the rest of (well only the veggie stuff) their goodies now that I know how fresh and delicious it truly is! This booming area in popularity is where everyone wants to either live or just be seen.

    After moving back from Pittsburgh, we have been missing the amazing Korean food that we had grown accustomed to. Chae has finally filled that void in our hearts. Bone-in short ribs served family style will make you wonder why this hasn't been a part of your life until now. The atmosphere is clean, bright, and welcoming; and the food was created by a passionate chef. Chae is perfect for a quick lunch; yet even better when a whole crew samples the wide variety of family style dishes. As far as libations go, their fully stocked bar of cocktails and fine beers won't leave you hanging. As the drink menu suggests: "Stay Strong: get a shot of Jameson with a kimchiback." The Oxtail Soup is out of this world and the Softshell Crab Bun might be our new nomination for President.

On Sunday, April 3rd from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Uptown 23rd District will be an open street as citizens reclaim one of the busiest streets in Oklahoma City for a few hours enjoying non-motorized activities.

    Open Streets OKC is a local health organization that promotes wellness in the city. They believe that active transportation, a la, biking or walking from one destination to another enables residents to have a happier and healthier lifestyle while keeping close ties to their community.

    Everyone who attends the event is encouraged to bike, walk, skate, or any other mode that does not require a motor to celebrate the charm of historic Uptown 23rd District and meet and mingle with neighbors and local business owners.
