Edmond Oklahoma is a city located just north of Oklahoma City. It offers a suburban lifestyle with a small-town feel. Edmond has a variety of parks, museums, and local events, as well as excellent schools.
As high as 21,000 vehicles travel SH-74 north of Memorial daily. For those living in SW Edmond, and have had to travel SH 74 for the past several years, I know you are excited about the new expansion project. The new $34 million project started on Feb. 2 of '15. The first phase, from Memorial to just north of 164th, will feature expansion from two to four lanes, a new bridge over 150th, along with ramps to and from north/south bound SH-74 and 150th. This project will add one-way service roads on both sides to allow for access to businesses, along with accommodating for future growth. The project is estimated to take approximately one year to complete, with a new phase two project scheduled for 2018. The second construction phase will take SH-74 north of 164th up to Covell. Obviously, it's tough on those living around the area, dealing with daily traffic congestion and construction. However, once complete, this should really make a positive impact on your property value. Food for thought as you shop neighborhoods around this corridor.
