Oklahoma City is the largest city in Oklahoma, offering a mix of urban and suburban lifestyles. The city has a thriving job market, a diverse food scene, and a variety of cultural and recreational activities.
Lincoln Park's origins go back to Oklahoma City's original planning. Specifically, the plan called for a Grand Boulevard, lined with trees, encircling the outer edge of the city. Grand Boulevard would be crowned by a major city park in each of the four quadrants. The city council approved the plan in 1909 and today will still have all four of the original big parks - Woodson Park (southwest), Trosper Park (southeast), Will Rogers Park (northwest), and this one, Lincoln Park.Originally called Northeast Park it was the largest park in the city at 744 acres. Streetcars brought in visitors from all over the city. Over time the park would develop a ninety-acre northeast ake, of course, an amphitheater, and home to the Oklahoma City Zoo, as well as the Science Museum.
