Oklahoma City is the largest city in Oklahoma, offering a mix of urban and suburban lifestyles. The city has a thriving job market, a diverse food scene, and a variety of cultural and recreational activities.
Downtown OKC is about to be swarming with music fans this weekend. OKCFEST, a mid-summer music festival, is about to invade the heart of downtown Oklahoma City tomorrow, June 26 and June 27th. The event is just west of the Chesapeake Energy Arena and will have Harvey and SW 2nd Street closed to accommodate the performances. Friday night is the "Rock" night with headliners Sammy Hager and the Circle. Other artists that will be playing Friday night include Grace Potter, Better than Ezra, Drive by the Truckers and Oklahoma City's own Graham Colton. Saturday night is "Country" night featuring headliners Rascal Flatts. Hank Williams Junior, Lucas Hoge, Clare Dunn, and Cody Kent White will also play on Saturday. Tickets are $55 a night or $95 for both nights. There are also VIP options available. For more information or to purchase tickets visit their website, http://okcfest.com/.I went to the concert last year and had a wonderful time. It is worth checking out if you are music fan in OKC. Few quick festival tips: wear comfortable shoes, dress for the heat, take sunscreen and drink lots of water. The main stage is on an asphalt parking lot so the Oklahoma summer hot weather is only amplified. I wish I were in town to get to the concert this year. Enjoy!
